So, i know its been a while...but as of today, i have a rant thats worthy of city-wide recognition. im talking about the damned multiple construction sites all over louisville, and parts of southern indiana! this shit is too fucking much. seems like you cant go to any part of town without running into some kind of massive street construction. on the bridges, on i-71, i-65, i-64, downtown, brownsboro rd, hurstbourne rd....
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
i can understand this kinda shit around pre-derby time. we want our city to look good for all the tourists! that i can understand. but literally every direction in and out of the city, during the beginning of summer? FUCK!! im sick of it. and im sure alot of other drivers and residents are too...
fuckin bastards. couldnt they wait til fall, when ppl drive less? that way, they could be done by xmas time, and traffic wont be as bad going to and from all the shopping. no bumps or potholes. wide lanes...
anywhoo, not much i can do about it, other than gripe. fucking city construction. grr.
just wait til i take over the earth. things will be different. hmpf!

Hey all!
Sorry ive been away again. work has been kicking my ass, and i havent been able to try and keep up with this blog. but, since things are returning to some normality, i can come back, and get this thing a-rollin again.
today, though, is just me checking in, and to let all of you know im still here.
further more, theres plans in the works for me, and about 4-5 friends, to start a nerdy/geeky style podcast, reviewing movies, tv shows, games, and other stuff. plan is, its gonna be like a round table (or round couch, per se..) discussion upon agreed upon subjects. im pretty sure one of the first few podcasts will be about the HBO show "Six Feet Under". as soon as its unleashed online, i will give everyone the address on where to go on the web and listen/download out show.
peace out, and i promise to be back very soon to give one hell of a rant. politics, media, and even music have been getting on my last nerves here lately, and i need to eventually get it all out.

april 12, 2012 : The Return Of The Hobbit...Sort of...!
Hey kids!
Its a wonderful day in the world of the hobbit! I got a text message this morning from my sister, about my old job at the nursing home. turns out, someone quit, and they wanted me to come back, and take my old job back. OF COURSE, i jumped on the chance, because subway isnt giving me enough hours, or good enough pay. i get the fun *sic* of putting in a 2 week notice when i go to work tomorrow. this may piss off my boss and the owners of the subway i work at, but i dont mind. i get to return to the job i should have never left in the first place!
back 2 years ago, i got stupid, and decided to try and make more money by leaving the "good, dependable, stable" job where i was getting lots of hours, good rate of pay, where i had put in a good 10 years of service, for a CRACKER BARREL that was closer to my house, supposedly better pay once i been there for a while, and less hours. i learned my lesson, hardcore. i wasnt there 4 full months, and i got let go because i, supposedly, was too slow for them. it doesnt matter that i was following what i knew as food service safety, or that the other cooks were plotting my demise. and part of it was my fault too. i thought i was ready for something different as well. boy was i wrong. after being let go, as many of you know, i ended up at subway, because i needed a job. ANY job. i took what i could find.
ive been at this subway for the last 2 years now. ive been accused of sexual harrassment, accused of physically hurting someone, been told the owners wanted to fire me over usage of napkins, ive had shitty hours, and even shittier ppl to work with. and yet, i kept a smile on my face, and learned from all my experiences. im glad its ending. its the whole phoenix out of the ashes feeling for me. i feel like since i left the old job, ive learned and matured and im ready to go back, and put in 20 or 30 years..once im back, im sticking around like im covered in glue, no matter how crazy it gets. as long as they give me decent hours, and decent pay, im happy.
so, the hobbit returns to the world of nursing home dietary work. so be it!

March 24th, 2012 - In Rememberance....
hey everyone...
Usually, on here, i rant and rave, and bitch about things that have pissed me off, or bother me, but today, i have to change gears for a good friend, who died this morning: Cody Ott.
Now, Cody was no saint. he never claimed to be. BUT, he was the guy who anyone could get along with. he went out of his way to have a good time, and to take care of his friends when they needed a hand up, a shoulder to cry on, someone to hug, things like that. Hell, he helped me and my now ex-wife move into the house we lived in next to the bar we met him at. He made it a point to help his fellow human, and to enjoy life on his terms. This morning, i found out through facebook, and through friends of mine, that he had died of a stroke upon returning home from the bar hes been going to. i dont know the details, but its still sad to hear about one of my friends passing on, and moving onto the next life. I, personally know, that heaven now has one very beautiful voice, and a great man up there, to look down upon us all. God Bless YOU, Good sir, and Godspeed unto your next adventure.
I hadnt seen cody in months upon writing this, but that doesnt mean i dont have love for the man, the things hes done, or the life he lived. he truely lived his life on his own terms. he was always happy when i saw him out and about. I always made it a point to hug him, and call him brother and friend. my only hope is that alot of us left here on earth can life a life like he did.
so, later tonight, as i go with my girlfriend to sing kareoke, and relax a little, even though i usually dont drink, i will have a alcoholic beverage (just one..lol), raise my glass, and bless Mr. Ott, and honor him with a drink, and a song or two.

March 1st, 2012 - Hobbity Update!
Hey kids.
No bitching or ranting this time around. just a few updates on some things going on, and some thing that are in the works...
- Im moving into a house over this weekend. me and the roomies are gonna look into getting the net at the new house, so i can start doing my blog, and various other plans (see below...) from my house, instead from work, when i get here early to syphon wifi from the hotel across the street. this will be a good thing, all around. the new house has a office room, which will be the "computer/office/media" room, once unpacked and decorated. wish me luck!
- after the "office' is set up, im gonna take my new digital camera, and a video editing program, and some free web tools/website hosting, and start up a video podcast, thanks to the influence of some friends of mine who will mentioned below this note. i have no idea what im going to make the podcast about, but it will be semi-separate from this blog. i bitch and complain and vent on here. the upcomming video podcast ill more than likely be geeky, funny, and things like that. music, comics, nerd stuff, geekgasms, ect, ect... and I WILL get alot of you to be on the podcast with me. you have been warned..!
-My friends Corey Kirkpatrick, Jared Howell, and Brad Bamforth have their own audio podcast going on called "Return of The Living Podcast". its all about haunts, horror movies, and other geeky stuff, and these guys are close friends of mine. go support their podcast and support them, as you would support me! the link for their site is: http://

Feb. 16th, 2012 : Whitney Houston....ARGH!!

lets get this off my chest, and outta my brain before my head explodes!
today's rant subject...Whitney Houston!
Now, im not saying she wasnt a great icon of pop music in the late 80s and early 90's. i wont take that away from her. BUT.... She's not the same kind of artist as, say Elvis, or Michael Jackson. it gets me that most of the nation is "mourning" this wanna be Tina Turner 2.0!
Whitney wasnt perfect, by any means. she was constantly fueled up on drugs and alcohol, she was married to a very abusive, hotheaded man, AND she was constantly battling with rehab, and leaving said abuser. she hasnt attempted a decent comeback up until a few months ago, and even then, she still wasnt fully clean and healthy. to most of the ppl i know, ms. houston had faded away from the limelight years ago, and is still seen as a humoungous blight on the music industry as a whole. i mean, who else could coin the term "hell to the no!" while high on cocaine, painkillers, and booze....shakes head.
and im sick, also, of the news outlets making this dumb bitch's death headline news 24/7 right now. whos doing what, whos moving where, where the ceremony is...FUCK THAT. our militaty and, dare i say it, government should be the headlines right now. our country, and our fighting men and women are way more important, and news worthy, than covering every second of every minute of every hour of every day of ms. houston's funeral. and fuck, i thought it was bad when michael died....
look, see it like this....she was beaten by her man, constantly fucked up on various chemicals, and hasnt done jack, music wise, in almost 20 years. shes dead. let her be dead. i dont need to be reminded every second.
i know it sounds heartless, but hey, its how i see it.
mad love to you all. and special love to tina turner, who proved that she could make something of her self after all that had happened to her. shes more of a woman than whitney houston could and would ever be.

february 7th, 2012: WTF @ Subway....
Hey all! Lets get to it, shall we?
Today, im writing in response of something thats been happening at my workplace for over a month now. Me, and a buncha co-workers have been slowly losing work hours, due to the owners saying/stating that our Subway store has been in the "red flag" state, and hasnt been making alot of money since before Xmas, YET.. We now have a newer co-worker whos been constantly been getting near 50+ hours a week. This guy was brought in from another one of the owner's stores, and hes a pain in the ass. he constantly pissed off our customers, is rude to them, yells at them when they dont understand his very broken english. the rest of us are busting our asses, constantly, and losing hours, AND we are also playing damage control for this foreign idiot. IM DONE playing stooge and lackey to this dickhole.
Ive been working my ass off for this company since i started here in august of 2010. when the old manger stepped down, i stepped up and started trying to take care of this store any way i could. when ppl had problems, they called ME, not the owners. when shit started going down the tubes, who was the person that everyone relyed on? ME! Now, this foreign motherfucker dances into my store, pretty much takes all the hours he wants, and the rest of us, including me, who work like crazy and do the best we can, are getting shit on...? FUCK THAT.
I personally say to you, my friends and fellow co-workers who are also getting crapped on, that i will fight, However i can, to make this abomination right. any chance i get to fight back, and cause trouble for this guy, i will. any time i can speak out, and hopefull get some of our hours back where they belong, I WILL. I promise to fight for all of us, day after day, until we all get the hours and treatment we truely deserve here.
and to the foreign guy who thinks hes better than all of us american, hard working people.....

January 26th, 2012: Pissed Off.....
Hello all. lets get right to the points..!
Dear Subway @ Bridgeview,
Ive been a faithful employee for a little over a year and a half now, and ive got some real problems and complaints with how things have went downhill since i started here.
#1- You, the owners, dont know how to run a subway, PERIOD!
everything from not fixing the problems that the subway franchise inspector marks you up for, to problems the employees themselves tell you about, your too worried about your numbers, and your money, and your technology to see that if you dont fix alot of said problems, your gonna loose your business. let me list a few of these said problems you've been asked to fix: cracked tile in the floor, the recycled and dirty mopheads, the leaky dish sprayer and pipes, your soda machine needs replaced, ice machine got replaced but its out of compliance, oven needs updated/replaced, mop bucket needs fixed, and theres plenty more. me, and the other employees have brought these problems up, just like the inspector has brought these same problems up, and they dont get fixed.
futher more, running most everything from computers and cell phones doesnt work. if your not willing to be here, or atleast have your ppl handle some problems from within, then why the hell do you have the damned business in the first place. i understand, you, the owners, have other endevours to keep track of as well, BUT, if you cant run your stores, they will keep going downhil, and you wont have stores to make money off of. also, keep treating your employees like shit, and trust me, your faithful and loyal customers will find another place to take their business. its them, who expect to see some of the same faces, and to be treated with respect and a familiar face. dont alienate them, or your employees.
#2- Playing Favorites....
Theres also a guy here at this store i work at, whos from india (i think...hes from the same area of the world as the owners...) whos getting 45-50 hours a week. granted, its @ a base pay, and he doesnt get overtime, but its still near 20-30 hours more than Im getting a week, and way more than most of the rest of the staff is getting a week. what makes this dude so special? he barely speaks english, offends the customers when they cant understand him, barely does much of anything, isnt fast on the line, and tends to come off like a child molester when its just him and another person here on staff. he doesnt want to do much of any prep, and is more worried about wiping crums off the line, or doing dishes slowly, to look busy. i personally can run circles around him, and he has no business getting 10 hour days all week. most of the time hes here, theres nothing to do except cleaning tasks, and once ya get those caught up, nothing to do but stand around. if your gonna pay this guy to pretty much stand around and do nothing for a good chunk of his shift, then its time i start to look elsewhere for my income. me, and plenty of the other employees are doing a kick ass job working our asses off to make this store somewhat work, and make money, and we dont have time to deal with the owners playing favorites because one of their workers is from their homeland. if thats how it should work, i wanna find a mcdonalds run by a white person, that way, i know ill make 50 hours a week, because im from the same country. hmpf!
#3 - hiring from within....
since our manager stepped down due to all the stress the owners caused her, I have been the person everyone has been comming to for answers. the asst. manager, again, has been having personal life problems, and has had his hours cut, because he has been using the work phone for his own personal use, and its affecting his work life as well. its put me in a precarious situation because i have become the last line of defense for this place. i make sure all the jobs are done, that the store is as clean as can be, and that this place runs smooth, especially at night. But, instead of giving me an raise and a job title, the owners decided to bring in a new manager to run the place. new managers doesnt know the store like i do, doesnt know the customers, and its running things the way she sees fit. i dont fault her, dont get me wrong, but it was the wrong thing to do. atleast, if your gonna bring a new manager in, promote me to assistant manager, so i can help guide her in the ways of this store, and she can help guide someone to become an eventual manager themselves.
this place is gonna go to hell, and due to all thats happened, im not lifting a finger anymore to save it. its time this hobbity bird starts looking for a new nest to call his own. i hope you, the owners, enjoy how things are looking. eventually, your going to have to own up, and fix everything, and its gonna cost you more in the end.
so, to subway, i say....

Theres also a guy here at this store i work at, whos from india (i think...hes from the same area of the world as the owners...) whos getting 45-50 hours a week. granted, its @ a base pay, and he doesnt get overtime, but its still near 20-30 hours more than Im getting a week, and way more than most of the rest of the staff is getting a week. what makes this dude so special? he barely speaks english, offends the customers when they cant understand him, barely does much of anything, isnt fast on the line, and tends to come off like a child molester when its just him and another person here on staff. he doesnt want to do much of any prep, and is more worried about wiping crums off the line, or doing dishes slowly, to look busy. i personally can run circles around him, and he has no business getting 10 hour days all week. most of the time hes here, theres nothing to do except cleaning tasks, and once ya get those caught up, nothing to do but stand around. if your gonna pay this guy to pretty much stand around and do nothing for a good chunk of his shift, then its time i start to look elsewhere for my income. me, and plenty of the other employees are doing a kick ass job working our asses off to make this store somewhat work, and make money, and we dont have time to deal with the owners playing favorites because one of their workers is from their homeland. if thats how it should work, i wanna find a mcdonalds run by a white person, that way, i know ill make 50 hours a week, because im from the same country. hmpf!
#3 - hiring from within....
since our manager stepped down due to all the stress the owners caused her, I have been the person everyone has been comming to for answers. the asst. manager, again, has been having personal life problems, and has had his hours cut, because he has been using the work phone for his own personal use, and its affecting his work life as well. its put me in a precarious situation because i have become the last line of defense for this place. i make sure all the jobs are done, that the store is as clean as can be, and that this place runs smooth, especially at night. But, instead of giving me an raise and a job title, the owners decided to bring in a new manager to run the place. new managers doesnt know the store like i do, doesnt know the customers, and its running things the way she sees fit. i dont fault her, dont get me wrong, but it was the wrong thing to do. atleast, if your gonna bring a new manager in, promote me to assistant manager, so i can help guide her in the ways of this store, and she can help guide someone to become an eventual manager themselves.
this place is gonna go to hell, and due to all thats happened, im not lifting a finger anymore to save it. its time this hobbity bird starts looking for a new nest to call his own. i hope you, the owners, enjoy how things are looking. eventually, your going to have to own up, and fix everything, and its gonna cost you more in the end.

January 10th, 2012: My Return to the Blog..!
Hey kids!!
After a few weeks of no laptop, im back, and ready to start doing this blog thing on a regualr basis! sorry i was away for a time, but it couldnt be helped. broken laptop, relationship changes, working my ass off for that allmighty penny, and just dealing with the cards life has dealt me, left me in a state where i couldnt blog. couldnt be helped until now. so im back, fuckers..! time to start paying attention!
first and formost, i would like to extend my graditude to my co-worker, vanessa! if not for her, i wouldnt be writing this right now!
now, a few topics before i leave you all in your current state of beings...
a: My relationship changes:
yes, i went from being with a girl, to single, to with a new girl in a matter of less than 2 weeks. yeah, i know it sounds crazy... BUT, im making it a point to do my best not to bad mouth, or put down my ex in any public forum. the relationship we had was crazy enough. we all dont need me putting an even worse spin on it. she still has to come to my apartment, and retrieve her belongings, and any way i can help make that as smooth as possible, i will.
and yes, you heard right, i am with someone else already. sorry you all, but this has been a long time comming. April is a great girl, and she will be treated like the princess she is! i hope that i can be the guy she wants in life. =]
b: my birthday celebration:
lets get this outta the way now! IF YOUR UNDER 18, I DO NOT WANT ANY PICTURES OF YOUR BOOBS FOR MY BIRTHDAY! 18 AND OVER ONLY! i have a tradtion every year, that i ask for titties for my birthday instead of presents. i dont, however, take "donations" from underage anyone. period. if your under 18, and wanna get me something for my birthday, donate money, or a geeky present. over 18, i want boobies! and guys, yes, i take "those" donations too...lol
the place for the hobbitmania celebration is still being decided. as soon as i know something, you all will know something.
and finally...
to my owners of my "$5 footlong" type store....
YOU CANNOT DO EVERY LITTLE THING BY COMPUTER AND CELL PHONE!
for weeks now, your business has been going down hill because you cant realize how the human component of your business fits in with the computers and the cell phones, and technology you have. all your doing is looking at numbers and statistics, telling everyone to email/text you both any and every little detail,. and when someone does things they way they were trained, and not using the cell phone or computer, you get pissed. was it not the both of you who told us, through a posted sign, not to be on our computers surfing the net on the clock, or on our cell phones. no personal devices...? yet, if we need a day off, or need to complain, or tell you about food one of the other stores are borrowing, or if a floor tile is cracked, or if a pipe is leaking, or if something is generally wrong, we have to text or email you? FUCK THAT! wake the fuck up, and take care of your stores. trust the ppl who have put in the effort to make your stores work. put your faith in the human factor. you cannot rely on technology alone. just ask John Connor..!
and you idiots wonder why you cant keep anyone worth having at this hellhole! and those of us who bust our asses here are looking for better places to work, and you dont understand why we are leaving.... you also wonder why the idiots who do stay, are worthless because they cant understand how to do their jobs. just because they say theyve worked for this company before, doesnt mean they were good at it. and at times, it usually means they werent at a subway for more than a few months, and couldnt hack it the first time.
so, in closing....wake the fuck up, YOU BIRD BRAINED SONSABITCHES!
